Once the applicant's application is electronically sent to Loma Linda University from PTCAS, the applicant will receive an email from University Admissions giving them instructions on where and how to complete the secondary application. The applicant should adjust their email settings to accept emails from @llu.edu. If this is not done, the email regarding the secondary application may go to the "Junk" file or not received at all. Once the applicant has received the email from University Admissions inviting them to complete the secondary application, the applicant will have 21 days to complete the secondary application. The applicant is strongly encouraged to monitor his or her PTCAS application for "received transcripts." The application will not be forwarded to Loma Linda University until PTCAS has received all transcripts.

The applicant must have a total of 80 hours of volunteer or employment with a physical therapist. Of the 80 required hours, a minimum of 20 hours must be in an inpatient setting (e.g. hospital, skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center) and a minimum of 20 hours must be in an outpatient setting.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Loma Linda University is a Seventh-day Adventist educational health-sciences institution which provides an environment for learning, emphasizing excellence in education, personal integrity, intellectual development, community service and personal commitment to Christ.  Loma Linda University has an enrollment of approximately 4,000 among its eight schools which include the School of Allied Health Profession, School of Dentistry, School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Pharmacy, School of Public Health, School of Science and Technology and the School of Religion.   

The Doctor of Physical Therapy program is housed within the School of Allied Health Professions.  The Department has 22 full time faculty, 5 part time faculty and a significant number of clinicians who assist with the educational process on a contract basis.  The Department offers degrees in the following areas: Physical Therapist Assistant, entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy, post-professional Master of Physical Therapy, post-professional Doctor of Physical Therapy and the Doctor of Science.   

On exit interviews, the graduates of the Department of Physical Therapy consistently mark the faculty as a high strength of the program citing their availability, compassion, knowlede, high quality of teaching.
