PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program is designed to help you become a thoughtful, skilled and caring therapist. Our program emphasizes evidence-based practice and focuses on developing clinicians who will serve the community through excellence in clinical practice and understanding of the spiritual, economic, and psychological needs of the clients they serve. The program will help you develop skills to determine why an individual may have difficulty with movement, to determine whether those difficulties can be remediated by physical therapy, and to develop and implement a program which would address those concerns.
This entry level professional degree program is three full years in duration. The program is full-time and encompasses six semesters, three winterims, and two summer sessions. An optional internship after graduation is available. No specific major is required or preferred for entry into the program provided the prerequisite classes have been met.
Program Highlights
- Program has 10-year CAPTE accreditation.
- Students learn in an on-campus, pro bono clinic.
- Students participate with faculty in selecting clinical location sites and participate in clinicals every semester of the program.
- State-of-the-art facilities including human anatomy lab with cadavers.
- Faculty to student ratio is 1:10.
